A Wiggly Tooth
"Search me, O God, know my heart.
Test me, and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends You,
and lead me in the oath of everlasting life."
Psalm 139: 23-24
Day 5
November 20, 2022
My daughter is 5 years old. And this morning...her tooth was loose! This is a big deal. She has been wiggling that thing ALL DAY LONG. She made me tell her teacher at church that her tooth was wiggly ("Just in case"); she has spent hours staring in the bathroom mirror shaking that thing back and forth. She has me check it over and over and over again. She has told her dad, her brother, our neighbor, her grandma, our friends at church, and even the grown-ups we saw at a friend's house to watch the first World Cup Soccer Game.Even right now, after dinner, dessert, and teeth brushing, she is still sitting here wiggling that tooth.
And I admire her perseverance. Because you know what? The chances that tooth is going to fall out tonight or even this week are pretty slim. I have felt it. It just isn't quite ready yet. But she will not give up on it.
Just something for me to think about as God continues to search me and test me.
As always, I am praying for you and with you, friends.
